Combined, J.M. Benjamin and Randy Kearse spent over 25 years incarcerated. Never did either think in a million years one day they’d hold the title of “author.” In retrospect, they’ve distilled their experiences, losses and triumphs in a joint effort – FROM INCARCERATION TO INCORPORATION.
In this memoir/biography, Benjamin and Kearse start by recounting their upbringings, ultimate decision to choose the streets and subsequent imprisonment. Here we find not only the influences that would come to bear upon them as men, but also their inspiration for writing. Included also are several interviews.
Benjamin and Kearse do an admirable job. FROM INCARCERATION TO INCORPORATION does not come off preachy or as if the authors have a political angle or vendetta, they are simply telling their stories in hopes of preventing someone else from too making the wrong decisions and to those that have, they are encouraging proof that anything is possible.
